KaBAHAGI

The KaBAHAGI program promotes volunteering by assisting non-governmental organizations, companies, government agencies and academic institutions in developing their own volunteer programs and volunteer management policies and procedures.

The program achieves this through the following innovative capacity-building tools:

Volunteer Management System (VMS)course

A course that provides the basics of how to develop a volunteer program and volunteer management policies and guidelines.

VMS benchmarking tool

A tool to help organizations to qualitatively and quantitatively assess volunteer management practices.

KaBAHAGI Fellows

This program links organizations to Fellows, who are volunteer program development and volunteer management advisors. Fellows help to deepen the level of capacity building and ensure that organizations are able to maximize their learning from the VMS course. Fellows also provide post-training technical support. Fellowships are available exclusively for organizations that have undergone the VMS course.

KaBAHAGI resources website

This is a volunteering support facility for organizations and individuals. It features information and interactive tools to help organizations work effectively with volunteers and links them with individuals who would like to be involved in the community. Visit www.kabahagi.ph for more information.

Support for VSO Philippines partners

One of the key initiatives under the KaBAHAGI program is providing support for VSO Philippines (VSOP) partners – civil society organizations and local government units that implement programs on disability, secure livelihoods and peace-building. It aims to enable partners to preserve the contributions of VSO international volunteers by mobilizing local volunteer skills and resources to contribute to their development objectives.
